In Greek mythology Sisyphus was the king of Corinth condemned by the gods to an eternity of pushing a huge boulder up a hill, only for it to topple back and roll to the bottom as he neared the summit.

How this scenario must resonate with the senior management of Renault F1 - and the corporation signing the cheques - as the team repeatedly falls well short of Formula 1's peak, seemingly regardless of the effort and money expended.
